Recently, Sungrow Power Supply signed an important agreement with the global renewable energy company Zelestra. Sungrow Power Supply will provide battery energy storage technology for one of the largest battery energy storage projects in Latin America.
Sungrow Power Supply will provide its PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-
cooled battery energy storage system and PCS for this energy storage project. The energy storage capacity of the project is approximately 1GWh. This project is part of the Aurora Hybrid power generation project in Talapaca, Chile. It also includes a 220-megawatt DC photovoltaic power station and is equipped with Sunergy's 1+X modular inverters (8.8-megawatt modular design).
The Aurora project has started construction and is expected to generate approximately 600GWh of renewable electricity annually, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 200,000 Chilean households, making a significant contribution to Chile's decarbonization process. The battery energy storage system (BESS) will start delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Leo Moreno, the CEO of Zelestra, said: "With this important agreement, we have obtained the most advanced Battery Energy storage system (BESS) technology in the market and will create one of the largest battery energy storage projects in Latin America ever." This is an important milestone for the Aurora project. We are moving towards the goal of delivering highly customized hybrid solutions to meet the Abastible requirements of our customers.
Furthermore, it is understood that Sunergy's PowerTitan liquid-cooled Energy storage system is used in the 200MW/800MWh BESS del Desierto energy storage project in Chile. This project is developed by Atlas Renewable Energy and was completed in April this year. In January this year, Sungrow Power Supply also submitted an environmental impact assessment report worth 157 million US dollars for a project, planning to build a 120MW/922.76MWh battery energy storage project in Santiago, Chile. If approved, the project is scheduled to commence construction in August 2026.
